Discovery Broadcasting Academy uses a curriculum specifically designed for
individuals who want to begin a career in Christian radio broadcasting.
Discovery Broadcasting Academy solves the Catch 22 of “you can’t get a job
without experience, and you can’t get real experience without getting a job.”
At Discovery Broadcasting Academy each student is matched with a mentor, a
working radio professional, at a radio station in their area. Radio basics
and theory are learned through a study at home program. The mentor meets
with the student at the mentor’s radio station for the lab work on audio
production, on-air work, copy writing, news, commercial and promotional
announcement production and much more.
You will not spend endless hours in a
classroom, but you will get hands on experience, guidance and wisdom from an
experienced radio professional in a Christian environment. The student will
“learn the ropes,” and make valuable contacts to launch and further their radio
careers.
